  We stayed over new years and had a chance to do a bit of hiking and explore the lake. It is an awesome part of tasmania. House was good and on a quiet street

  There are not many tourist attractions in Tullah itself, but Tullah is close enough to take day trips to all the tourist places on the west coast. If you plan to do toursisty things every day you'd be better off staying in Strahan or Cradle Mountain. But if you have a family (or two) wanting mostly a relaxing holiday of just lazing about, letting the kids run around and play together, and maybe a bit of boating then Tullah TimeOut is perfect.

  Tullah is great for kids - the beautiful lake is close by, and there's a really good playground and free tennis courts down the street from the house. It looks like there are a few kids that live in the town but basically you'll have the whole place to yourself. There's a boat ramp in case you're lucky enough to have your own boat.

  The house itself doesn't look much from the outside. Inside though is really good - there's plenty of room and everything you need is there. The owner has bought games (Monopoly etc), has a few DVDs and there are also two bikes, a scooter and two kayaks available to use (I'm not sure if these have an extra charge or not - we didn't have time to use them). Enough tea, coffee and milk is provided for one night.

  We went with another family and Tullah TimeOut is perfect for this. We were all able to stay in the one house which was great for the kids, and also saved us a lot of money compared to booking two rooms somewhere else. (In terms of sleeping there is a queen bed in one room, a queen/double plus a single in another room, and two single beds plus a trundle in a third room).

  Our trip was very last minute and Darren (the owner) was great - we had quite a few calls back and forth to get it organised and nothing seemed too much trouble. The house key is in the safe on the wall so you can check-in as late as you like.
